HOLIGE: AN UNDERRATED BOOK YOU LIKE TO RECOMMEND
Written in the Stars is an emotional, heartbreaking story about forcing an unwanted marriage. For many girls, this is an awful reality and I love that Aisha Saeed wrote this book. It is horrifying, heart-wrenching and angering. There is so much I can say about this book, about the unjust reality behind it, but then this would turn into a discussion like the one I did on The Undoing of Ryder Burke. But honestly, this is a book you all have to read.
JALEBI: A BOOK THAT SURPASSES YOUR EXPECTATIONS
When Dimple Met Rishi is a book I didn’t expect to fall in love with, but I did. It was just so cute and perfect. I loved all the references to Bollywood movies. I simply adore the cover and the back picture. I mean it’s an unairbrushed brown girl? With henna on? And she’s wearing a kurta? And you can see the faint peach fuzz? I FEEL SO REPRESENTED. I expected to rate this book only 3 stars, but by the end, it shot up to 4. It’s a must read!
RASGULLA: YOUR BOOKISH OTP
I’m already smiling so much, just thinking about Rhys and Feyre. I reviewed the series here. They’re always going to be my favourite couple in the freakin’ world, because of how much they’ve been through, everything they’d worked for, how hard they fought. Rhysand is an amazing example of how time, loyalty and love, and caring, can help to ease and heal trauma. Helping someone through it is so important and I love how he, and the rest if the Inner Court, did just that. Not just for each other, but for other victims of abuse. Hence, Rhys’ library in Velaris. I adore him so much.
GULAB JAMUN: A BOOK THAT EVERYONE WOULD ENJOY
This series is definitely one everyone will quickly fall in love with. It encompasses everything, from love to betrayal to heartbreak to magic and loss. It is so, so perfect and I am so in love with Julian and Legend. They’re amazing. Tella is definitely my favourite character in the series.
KALAKAND: A BOOK YOU DEVOURED IN A SINGLE SITTING
Oh my god. Can we just talk about how perfect and cute this book is?????? Because it is! It so definitely totally is! It’s one of my favourite books and I ship Simon and SOMEONE so freakin’ hard!!
PETHA: A RARE BOOK YOU OWN
I don’t really own rare books but I guess this comes pretty close? I mean everyone who purchased the Fairyloot special edition box will have a copy–but it’s the closest thing I have!
OAN PAPDI: A BOOK YOU WISH HAD A SEQUEL
This book made me cry and it was just so sad yet thought-provoking. I would love to see how Caitlin is doing now.
KAJU KATLI: A BOOK YOU THINK IS WORTH THE HYPE
I know, I know! I keep talking about the ACOTAR series. But honestly, no book has ever meant as much to me as ACOMAF (other than The Undoing of Ryder Burke.) It is such an amazingly fleshed-out, well written story with three-dimensional characters and such an amazing character arc for Rhysand. I can’t praise it enough.

And who’s now craving these amazing sweets??? I know I am. Might just have to pop over to AlaUddin or Ambala to get some of the mitai, tbh. If you’re South Asian, what are your favourite mitais/mishti? And if you’re not South Asian, then what are your favourite sweets?
